Alien

Across in Between and Beyond (Brazil)

Alien’s Bodybuilders are living and breathing artworks. Alien gives a bright and vivid exclusive into queer performance cultures from the UK. The series of full figure portraits, close ups, video stills and cut outs amplifies how queer self expression can powerfully adapt ideas of monstrosity to embrace autonomous bodily imagination. With a distinct feel for the iconic image, Alien reduces some portraits to fragmented cut outs while placing others in natural settings or others even in studio set ups. The series shows that queer empowerment in the form of performative self-exploration makes a point no matter where it’s at. Everybody wants to be a hot little monster.
