Emily Wells, geboren 1981 in Texas, USA, ist Künstlerin, Produzentin, Sängerin und Komponistin und gibt weltweit Konzerte. Sie ist bekannt für ihre vielfältige Einbindung von klassischen und modernen Instrumenten und ihre geschickte Umsetzung von Live-Sampling. Obwohl sie eigentlich als klassische Geigerin ausgebildet ist, tritt Wells bei ihren Konzerten unter anderem auch mit Schlagzeug, Synthesizer und Drumcomputer auf. Als Komponistin hat sie maßgebend zu dem Soundtrack des Psycho-Thrillers „Stoker“ beigetragen. Außerdem hat Wells in Kooperation mit dem US-amerikanischen Radioprogramm WNYC ein Stück zum 80. Geburtstag des bekannten Komponisten Terry Riley komponiert. Im letzten Frühjahr hatte Wells einen Auftritt in „The Tonight Show“, der US-amerikanischen Late-Night-Show mit Jimmy Fallon. 2016 ist ihr aktuelles Album „Promise“ in ihrem eigenen Plattenlabel „Thesis & Instinct“ erschienen, das unter den Kritikern viel Anerkennung und Zuspruch bekommen hat. Aktuellste Veröffentlichung ist die EP „In The Hot“.

Emily Wells, a 35 year old Texan, works as a musician, a singer, a producer and a composer and has played concerts around the world. She is renowned not just for her ever changing blending of classical and contemporary instruments, but also for the skilled way she integrates live samples into her music. Her training is as a classical violinist, but in her concerts she extends her range to drums, drum machines and synthesizers. In her role as composer, she made a significant contribution to the soundtrack of the psychological thriller „Stoker“. In 2015, Wells collaborated with the US radio station WNYC to produce a piece commemorating the 80th birthday of the noted classical composer Terry Riley and in early 2016 she was invited by Jimmy Fallon to perform on „The Tonight Show“. Also in 2016, her album „Promise“, released on her own label, Thesis & Instinct, appeared to a warm reception and much praise from critics. Her latest release is the EP „In the Hot“.
