Zelia Fonseca, Gitarristin, Sängerin und Songwriterin aus dem Südwesten Brasiliens, lebt seit 1989 in Europa. Sie lebte in Portugal, Finnland und jetzt in Deutschland. Durch das Duo „Rosanna & Zelia“ international bekannt geworden, nahm sie fünf CDs mit Eigenkompositionen auf, tourte durch Kanada, Singapur, China, Brasilien, Europa und stand auf der Bühne zusammen mit Compay Segundo, John Mclaughlin, George Benson, Joe Zawinul, Maria Joao, Djavan. Vier Jahre nach ihrem ersten, von der Presse hochgelobten Soloalbum „Impar“ präsentiert sie nun ihr neues Album „o terçeiro olho da abelha“ – Das dritte Auge der Biene.Produziert und arrangiert von Zelia und Matthias Grosch wurde die CD in Portugal und Mannheim aufgenommen und vom legendären Walter Quintus gemischt.Zelia ist eine Geschichtenerzählerin, die ihren Weg immer auf der Suche nach neuen Klangkreationen weitergeht. Jazz, Indie und Pop- Elemente mischt sie mit ihrem Ursprung aus afrikanischen und indianischen Geschichten und Polyrhythmen Brasiliens. Stilistisch unbegrenzt, poetisch und zeitlos.

Zelia Fonseca is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from the southwest of Brazil and has been living in Europe since 1989, initially in Portugal, then Finland, and now in Germany. After first achieving international renown as half of the duo „Rosanna & Zelia“, she recorded five CDs of her own compositions, toured across Canada, Singapore, China, Brazil and Europe, and took to the stage with artists such as Compay Segundo, John McLaughlin, George Benson, Joe Zawinul, Maria Joao and Djavan. Four years after her critically acclaimed solo album „Impar“, she now presents her latest work „o terçeiro olho da abelha“, or „the third eye of the bee“. Produced and arranged by Matthias Grosch and Fonseca herself, the album was recorded in Portugal and Mannheim and mixed by the legendary Walter Quintus. Fonseca is a storyteller, always on the search for new sounds. She blends jazz, indie and pop elements with roots in African and Amerindian narratives and in the polyrhythms of Brazil, all in a style that is poetic, liberated and timeless.
