Wir haben das queere Performance Festival „Explicit“ aus Montpellier eingeladen, einer Hochburg der queeren Szene in Frankreich.

Marianne Chargois und Matthieu Hocquemiller vermischen in ihrer Produktion Extime Performance und modernste medizinische Bildgebung zu einem Werk, das das Thema des Intimen („Intimus“: das, was im Innersten ist) und der Darstellung des Körpers behandelt. In einer Neukonfigurierung des anatomischen Theaters der Gegenwart bieten sie, zwischen Gelehrsamkeit und Postpornographie, Überlegungen über das Sehen, die die fließenden und dynamischen Grenzen des Normalen, Obszönen, Privaten, Persönlichen hinterfragen: das heißt, über die sich ständig verändernde Bedeutung des heutigen menschlichen Körpers.

From Heidelberg’s twin city Montpellier, a mecca of France’s queer scene, we welcome the queer performance festival „Explicit“.

In their production „Extime“, Marianne Chargois and Matthieu Hocquemiller blend performance and the latest medical imaging techniques to create a work that tackles both the portrayal of the body and the notion of the „intimus“ (or our „innermost“). Having rearranged today’s anatomical theater, and while employing a mixture of post-pornography and erudition, they examine and pose questions about what it is to observe and about the diffuse and dynamic boundaries of what is considered „normal“. They look at what is obscene, private or personal, and the constantly changing meaning of the human body in the present day.

The performance lasts approximately 30 minutes and the texts used are projected in English. Afterwards, we would like to invite the audience to a drinks reception with some authentic snacks from the south of France.
